Polished Concrete Flooring in Cedar Hill TX - a shine you approved on your own slab
Tired of a dull, stained or glue-marked slab? We grind it down and polish it to an even shine that shows the stone inside.

I check your slab before pricing it
I come out to every job, look the slab over and write the estimate myself, so the person pricing your floor is the one who saw it. Our own trained installers handle the grinding and polishing.
Working concrete floors since 2013
We've been prepping and finishing concrete since 2013, and the lesson hasn't changed. A floor only looks as good as the slab under it, so if yours needs work first, or isn't a fit for polishing, I'll say so.
Fully licensed and insured
We're fully licensed and insured. Satisfaction guaranteed on every job. When you're ready, call (972) 299-0201 or fill out our estimate request form, and we'll set up a time to come look.
Polished concrete flooring in Cedar Hill
Polished concrete flooring is your own slab, ground down and polished until it shines and shows the sand and stone mixed into it. In Cedar Hill, TX, it suits homeowners, shops and kitchens that want a hard, good-looking floor with no coating sitting on top.
First question is whether your slab suits polishing. One North Texas installer says vapor rising through a slab without a good vapor barrier, the plastic sheet that belongs under the concrete, can haze the shine, often inside a year. A calcium chloride test, which measures how much moisture the slab gives off, tells you where yours stands. If it reads high, you'll hear it from me before you've spent anything on the polish.
What moves the price is the size of the floor, what's on it now and how much repair the slab needs, since every crack and coating adds grinding time. The schedule turns on that same prep. In Cedar Hill, Cedar Hill Building Inspections issues permits for repairs and alterations, and its list doesn't settle floor polishing either way, so we check with them before we start and handle any paperwork. Your written estimate gives you the number for your own floor.
How we grind, polish and finish your slab
A test area before you choose
Polished floors come in Class A, B and C, which run from almost no stone showing to the bigger stone in the mix, and color can shift a lot between them. How much shows also depends on how your slab was mixed, poured and finished, so every slab polishes up a little different. That's why we polish a small test area on your floor before you sign off. If you'd rather have more color, stained concrete flooring adds it, and terrazzo flooring lets you pick the stone outright.
Filling pinholes and patching cracks
A slab with a lot of small holes, like sand pop-outs, fine cracks, pinholes or air voids, usually needs grouting, a thin fill worked into those pores, to reach the finish you picked. Deeper cracks and pop-outs get patched and color-matched before the last polish. On a polished floor a repair stays part of the look, so ask me how yours will blend in. I'd rather show you on your floor than have you find out after the shine is on.
Hardening, sealing and honest upkeep
Once we're done grinding, we put down a hardener that soaks into the concrete and tightens up the surface, then polish in finer and finer steps and seal it. That hardening and sealing is a big part of how long the look holds. Care is the other part, and I bring it up at the first visit, not the last, because a shine that's ignored goes dull and I'd rather you plan for it up front.

Common questions about polished concrete
How much does polished concrete flooring cost in Cedar Hill?
Polishing concrete usually costs about $8 to $9 per square foot across the US, for grinding and polishing an existing slab. Taking off old coatings, filling a lot of pinholes or patching cracks can push a floor past that, so I price yours after I've seen the slab.
Can an old concrete floor with glue or paint be polished?
Often, yes, once the old covering is off. Paint, epoxy, mastic tile glue and carpet glue all have to come off before polishing, and one North Texas installer prices that removal job by job, since it depends on what's there. I'll tell you at the estimate what your floor needs.
Is a polished concrete floor slippery?
Polished concrete tested well in a trade group's report, with every result well above the required slip-resistance level. The same report found grip changes with how glossy the floor is, not with how much stone shows. If slip resistance matters in your space, bring it up when we pick the finish.
How long does polished concrete last and what upkeep does it need?
One North Texas installer says a polished floor that's hardened, sealed and cared for keeps its look for 15 to 25 years in North Texas. The same installer advises burnishing, a fast buffing pass with a high-speed pad, once a year and resealing every 5 to 7 years, so count that upkeep as part of what the floor costs.
